DRAMA WORKSHOP WITH LI WING HONG
The drama workshop will explore different methods of communication. We express our feelings and thoughts through our words. However, languages are not the only tool for communication. In this workshop, you can experience the many different ways we communicate through theatre games.
DANCE MOVEMENT WORKSHOP WITH DAVINA HOLMES
Our bodies are always with us no matter how far we travel from home. They carry our stories, memories and dreams. This workshop will explore some of those stories through creative movements. It is open to everyone. This is a guided opportunity to find your own way of moving, freely and playfully, responding to music and your own imagination.

In search of women and the people who love them in the local Chinese community…
How different are the growing up stories between a great grandmother and her great granddaughter? Boys don’t cry. Those who cry are women. But why do we cry? When was the last time we cried? Why? For whom did we shed our tears? What makes us laugh?
We are a group of women who came from Asian countries to England. This performance is particularly for women in the Chinese community. We don’t exclude men and children, so bring husbands, friends and children* too, but this event is an opportunity for women to get together, be entertained and share some of our wisdom with each other!
We invite you to share with us stories that you have kept deep in your heart making you smile, making you cry, making you scared, making you proud. We will happily play them back for you in front of your eyes, with witnesses in the community.
Playback Theatre is spontaneous, exhilarating and often moving. It is theatre created through a unique collaboration between performers and audience. Someone tells a story or moment from their life, chooses actors to play the different roles, then watches as their story is immediately recreated and given artistic shape and coherence.
Presented by: Playback Theatre, Chinese Information and Advice Centre (CIAC) and
Camden Chinese Community Centre
*The performance is suitable for children over 5
